Privacy Policy
This English version is provided for convenience. The German version is the legally binding one.
1. Controller
The controller within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:
Maik Becker Consulting Maik BeckerAm Ringofen 15
40885 Ratingen, Germany
Telephone: +49 175 22 98 104
E-mail: contact@maikbecker.com
2. Data protection at a glance
This website is a purely informational presence. It uses no cookies, no analytics or tracking services and no social media plugins. Personal data is processed in only two situations: for technical reasons when the website is accessed (server log files of the hosting provider) and when you contact us of your own accord — by telephone, e-mail or via the contact form. Personal data is not transferred to countries outside the European Union or the European Economic Area. No data protection officer has been appointed, as the statutory requirements for a mandatory appointment are not met.
3. Hosting
This website is hosted by an external service provider:
IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Str. 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany
The personal data collected on this website is processed on the hosting provider's servers in Germany. The hosting provider is used in the interest of a secure, fast and efficient provision of our online offering by a professional provider (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR has been concluded with the hosting provider.
Server log files
The hosting provider automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser transmits automatically: browser type and version, operating system used, referrer URL, host name of the accessing computer, time of the server request and IP address. This data is not merged with other data sources. Collection is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; the legitimate interest lies in the technically error-free presentation and the security of the website. The log files are deleted automatically by the hosting provider after the retention period defined in the data processing agreement; they are not analysed for marketing purposes.
4. Contacting us
Contact form
If you use the contact form on this website, the details you enter (name, e-mail address, optionally telephone number and the content of your message) are processed solely for the purpose of handling your enquiry. Transmission is encrypted (TLS). Your details are converted directly into an e-mail on this website's server and delivered to the controller's e-mail mailbox; no further storage on the web server — for example in a database — takes place. Any further retention occurs exclusively in the controller's e-mail mailbox.
No third-party services are used to process the form. Protection against automated spam submissions is provided by purely technical measures on our own server (a form field invisible to visitors and a timing check); no cookies are set, no external captcha services are embedded and no additional personal data is collected.
Contact by e-mail or telephone
If you contact us by e-mail or telephone, your enquiry and the resulting personal data (name, contact details, content of the enquiry) are stored and processed for the purpose of handling your request. This data is not passed on without your consent.
Data transmitted via the contact form, by e-mail or by telephone is processed on the basis of Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your enquiry relates to the initiation or performance of a contract. In all other cases, processing is based on our legitimate interest in handling enquiries addressed to us effectively (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The data remains with us until the purpose of storage no longer applies or you request its deletion; statutory retention periods remain unaffected.
5. Fonts and content
This website uses the typefaces Archivo and Source Sans 3 (SIL Open Font License). The font files are stored on this website's server and loaded from there. When the site is accessed, no connection is established to servers operated by Google (Google Fonts) or other third parties; all images, graphics and scripts are likewise served exclusively from our own server.
The QR code in the contact section is a locally stored graphic. When scanned with your device, only the contact details it contains (vCard) are transferred to your device; no data processing takes place on this website in the process.
6. Links to external websites
This website contains simple links to the profiles of Maik Becker Consulting on LinkedIn (LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company) and XING (New Work SE). These are plain links without embedded plugins — no data is transferred to the named providers when you visit this website. The respective provider's privacy policy applies only once you follow a link.
7. SSL/TLS encryption
For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, this website uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the browser's address bar changing from “http://” to “https://” and by the padlock symbol in the browser bar.
8. Your rights as a data subject
Within the scope of the applicable statutory provisions, you have the right at any time to obtain, free of charge, information about your stored personal data, its origin and recipients and the purpose of processing (Art. 15 GDPR), as well as the right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR), erasure (Art. 17 GDPR), restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR) and data portability (Art. 20 GDPR).
Where processing is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, you have the right to object to the processing at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21 GDPR).
For this and any other questions on data protection, you may contact us at any time at the address given in the legal notice.
Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority
In the event of infringements of the GDPR, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the Member State of your habitual residence, your place of work or the place of the alleged infringement. The competent supervisory authority for North Rhine-Westphalia is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia (Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen), Kavalleriestraße 2–4, 40213 Düsseldorf, Germany, www.ldi.nrw.de.
9. Currency of this privacy policy
